Knob Noster is located on U.S. Highway 50, approximately 60 miles east of Kansas City, Missouri, and is located on the very well-traveled U.S. Highway 50. 

According to the 2000 U.S. Census, Knob Noster’s population was 2,462, with an estimated 2,734 people in 2005.

Knob Noster has a full-time City Hall that is operated under a Mayor, Six Aldermen and a City Administrator.  Services offered include water, sewer and trash.

Knob Noster has approximately 34 employees, which includes administration, building and zoning, a community development department, a street department, utilities, court division, full-time police department and a volunteer fire department.
